Before you can receive botulinum toxin, our doctors will have to determine if you qualify for treatment. During your consultation, we will consider factors such as your:

Age

Patients between the ages of 18 and 65 who are dissatisfied with the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles or want to take proactive measures against the signs of aging are typically good candidates for BOTOX Cosmetic.

Goals

Health

Receiving Botulinum Toxin What to Expect During Treatment

During your appointment at one of our offices in Del Mar or La Jolla, you can expect a few simple steps:

Administer Anesthetic

To prepare for your injections, your doctor will clean the treatment sites. Though you can expect minimal discomfort from the injections, your doctor will also numb the treatment sites with cream or another method.

Inject BOTOX

Your doctor will use an ultrafine needle to carefully inject botulinum toxin into the areas you want to refine.

Return to Your Day

You can return to your regularly scheduled activities as normal, though we recommend avoiding strenuous activity for about 24 hours.

The Results of Your Treatment

In the Following Hours

Immediately after your appointment, you may notice bumps on your skin that look like mosquito bites. These will fade quickly. While you may see immediate improvements in the appearance of your fine lines and wrinkles, it may take a few days for the effect to become more apparent.

In the Following Days

Like Dysport, MYOBLOC, and XEOMIN, BOTOX may cause some mild side effects. In the days following your injections, you may experience symptoms like redness, swelling, discomfort, and bruising at the treatment site. These should fade over the course of a few days.

In the Following Months
